UAE Tour 2026 Route stage 2: Al Hudayriyat Island

UAE Tour 2026 Tuesday 17 February – Stage 2 of the UAE Tour is a 12.2-kilometre individual time trial on a flat and lightning-fast course on Al Hudayriyat Island in Abu Dhabi. Last year, Joshua Tarling won on exactly the same circuit at an average speed of 56.671 kilometres per hour.

The Brit completed the course in 12 minutes and 55 seconds. That was considerably faster than runner-up Stefan Bissegger, who was 13 seconds slower, which would have been enough to win two years ago. In 2024, Brandon McNulty claimed the stage victory on Al Hudayriyat Island in 13 minutes and 27 seconds.

The course is a dream for time trial specialists. Two sharp corners are virtually the only points where the riders need to brake. Otherwise, the route consists of long straights and sweeping bends that allow them to maintain their speed with ease. The road surface is also in excellent condition.
