Ruta del Sol 2025 Route stage 4: Córdoba - Alhaurín de la Torre
Saturday, 22 February – Covering 194.3 kilometres, the 4th stage of the Ruta del Sol is the longest of this edition. The riders travel on rolling roads from Córdoba to Alhaurín de la Torre.
After departing from Córdoba, the riders pass through Santa Cruz, Fernán Núñez, Montemayor, Montilla, Aguilar de la Frontera, Monturque, Lucena, Encinas Reales, Benamejí, and El Tejar before entering Málaga province in Antequera.
After passing through Antequera, the riders climb towards El Torcal, though without reaching its highest point. Instead, they’ll skirt its northern edge, following the A-343 Lobo Park road towards Valle de Abdalajís.
After cresting the climb near the village, the peloton tackle the last 50 kilometres through the Guadalhorce Valley, passing through Bellavista (Álora), Pizarra, and Estación de Cártama before arriving in Alhaurín de la Torre via Santa Amalia and El Peñón.
From the roundabout at El Peñón, the race continues straight along Avenida de las Américas, leading to the uphill finish on Avenida Ciudad de Ceuta, just past the Rotonda del Encuentro.
The most recent stage winners in Alhaurín de la Torre are Omar Fraile (2023) and John Degenkolb (2019).
Just before Antequera, with 70.7 kilometres to go, the Golden Kilometre offers a total of 18 bonus seconds. Three intermediate sprints within a single kilometre are awarded 3, 2, and 1 seconds each.
Time bonuses are also awarded at the finish line, granting 10, 6, and 4 seconds, respectively, to the first three classified riders.
