Edition 71 of the Ruta del Sol starts on Wednesday, 19 February, and is set to finish on Sunday, the 23th. The five-day stage race is held in Andalucia, hence its other name Vuelta a Andalucía. Due to farmer’s protests, last year’s edition was shortened to an ITT of 5 kilometres. Maxim Van Gils took the spoils and he won the GC.
