Race report
Carmela Cipriani, Silvia Zanardi, and Alice Palazzi initiate the breakaway, while Ana Vitória Magalhães and Clara Emond bridge across after over 50 kilometres.

The five reach the first climb with a lead of nearly 6 minutes. As the road starts to rise, only Clara Emond remains at the front.

Elise Chabbey and Erica Magnaldi attack from the chase group in the Monte Osteriaccia descent, but they are caught. In the meantime, Emond holds off the chasers to take the best win of her career. Soraya Paladin finishes 17 seconds later, while Cecilie Uttrup Ludwig crosses the line in third.

Elisa Longo Borghini and Lotte Kopecky finish just ahead of the main group, maintaining their first and second positions in the Giro d'Italia Women.
