Giro Women 2024 Route stage 5: Frontone – Foligno

Thursday 11 July - The route of the 5th stage in the Giro d'Italia Women takes the riders on gently rolling terrain from Frontone to Foligno. It's never entirely flat, but there are no significant climbs. The elevation gain over the 108 kilometres route does not exceed 700 metres.

There is only one opportunity to earn mountain points. It comes early in the race, in Morello, after a 1.8 kilometres climb at 4.8%. The rest of the route is slightly undulating.

After the descent from Morello, the course ascends gently for over 20 kilometres. Following another 37 kilometres of rolling terrain, the road goes downhill at moderate gradients for 25 kilometres towards the finish in Foligno.

The first sprint in the Giro was won bij Chiara Consonni.

The first three riders on the line earn time bonuses of 10, 6 and 4 seconds.
