Giro 2025 Route stage 10: Lucca – Pisa

Giro d'Italia 2025Tuesday, 20 May – The Giro d’Italia serves up its second individual time trial on the tenth day of action. The route between Lucca and Pisa covers 28.6 kilometres.

A year ago, the Giro visited Lucca for a stage finish. Benjamin Thomas emerged victorious from a breakaway that had formed about 80 kilometres from the line. The escapees made it thanks to the peloton’s sloppy organisation, as the finale was almost completely flat.

This time, there’s no chance of the peloton miscalculating, as there will be no peloton to begin with. The race from Lucca to Pisa is a virtually flat individual time trial. It’s all about going full gas on the big ring.

There are two intermediate time checks – at kilometre 8.4 and at kilometre 20.5. The finish line is drawn in the shadow of the Leaning Tower of Pisa.

Last year’s Giro featured two individual time trials. The first, finishing on a climb, was won by Tadej Pogačar, while the second, almost entirely flat, went to Filippo Ganna.
