Mads Pedersen won stage 5 of the Giro and retained the maglia rosa, ahead of Primoz Roglic and Mathias Vacek. Up next: the Giro’s longest stage, which starts on hilly terrain but finishes on the flat. Friday brings the first summit finish at a 12.6-kilometre climb averaging 5.4%, but with gradients hitting double digits in the final kilometres. Saturday sees a hilly stage with a punchy finale, before Sunday serves up the Giro’s take on the Strade Bianche.
