World Cycling Championships 2025: Route ITT – women

World Championships TTSunday 21 September – In the battle to succeed Grace Brown, the riders face 460 metres of elevation gain over a 31.2-kilometre course. Alongside the double ascent of the Côte de Nyanza, the cobbled rise of the Côte de Kimihurara adds to the excitement.

After a rolling opening phase of 8.3 kilometres, the riders tackle the Côte de Nyanza — a short climb of 2.5 kilometres at an average gradient of 5.8%. From the summit, they descend towards the Grahanga cricket stadium, where they make a U-turn. The road immediately begins to rise again. Approached from this side, the Côte de Nyanza measures 4.1 kilometres in length, with an average gradient of 3.1%.

The riders then descend the same side they climbed earlier. With 10 kilometres remaining, they leave the route they had previously taken in the opposite direction.

With 2.4 kilometres to go, the peloton hits the cobbles of the Côte de Kimihurara — a climb of 1.3 kilometres at 6.3%. The gradient eases off for a few hundred metres at the top before the road kicks up again in the final 900 metres, averaging just over 4% to the finish line.

There are three intermediate time checks, coming at 10.6, 19.3, and 26.6 kilometres.
