Vuelta 2014: Favourites stage 13 - Wanted: escapee with puncheur's legs
Three categorized hills and a finale with a 700 metres section at 24%. Since the high mountains loom tomorrow probably all GC men will treasure their legs and it seems highly unlikely a sprinter team will want to reel in escapees with a finale like that, so it's up to the break away boys today.

Looking at Tony Martin's palmares, more and more 'normal victories' are featured. The 'time trials only' period is long gone for the German powerhouse. Recent Tour saw him take a strong solo victory after being in a break of two with De Marchi the whole day.
Philippe Gilbert is another candidate. Strong puncheur and probably back to his best form with the World Championships in Ponferrada getting closer.
In recent Grand Tours Cadel Evans wasn't strong enough to compete for the overall, but when he aims for stage successes he could be more lucky. Today could bring his victory.
Daniel Martin is another possible contender, whilst Alejandro Valverde would be the one if the GC-men are going to sprint for the win.
