Vuelta 2014: Favourites stage 21 - GC men to battle it out in short ITT
The closing stage of la Vuelta 2014 is 9.7 kilometres time trial in the flat streets of pilgrimage Santiago de Compostela. Tony Martin territory one would assume, but is he still in the race? World championships are around the corner adn odds are on he abondoned. No worries, the GC men are still there and Chris Froome is one of the best in short time trials. Remember the Critérium du Dauphiné last june, a race where young Wilco Kelderman excelled also.

In advance looking at the list of contenders Tony Martin and Fabian Cancellara would be the most prominent time trialists, but since the TTT and ITT of the World Championships in Ponferrada are next week both the German and the Swiss champion have left La Vuelta.
Other strong time trialists are GC riders Chris Froome, Alberto Contador and Alejandro Valverde, whilst Wilco Kelderman and Rohan Dennis are upcoming riders capable of performing well in the chronorace. Another rider to be reckoned with is Italian champion Adriano Malori.
