UAE Tour 2023 Route stage 6: Abu Dhabi – Abu Dhabi Breakwater

UAE Tour 2023Saturday 25 February - The 6th stage presents the last sprint finish of this year's UAE Tour. The race starts and finishes in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates. The flat route is 166 kilometres long.

The riders clip into their pedals in Warner Bros World on Yas Island and they head north to leave the city. The turning point is next to Khalida Port, playground of the TTT on the second day of action.

After returning along the coast the riders head back to Abu Dhabi and pass through to the suburb Khalifa City. The route crosses Maqta Bridge and brushes past the Grand Mosque.

The home straight virtually begins when the riders enter Al Khaleej Al Arabi Street with 25 kilometres to go.

Last year, Mark Cavendish won the Abu Dhabi Breakwater sprint, although that was after a different approach.

The first three riders on the line gain time bonuses of 10, 6 and 4 seconds, while the intermediate sprints come with 3, 2 and 1 seconds.

The 6th stage of the UAE Tour starts at 12:40 and the race is expected to finish around 16:30 – both are local times (GST).
