Tour of the Alps 2026 Route stage 2: Telfs - Martell

Tour of the Alps 2026 Tuesday 21 April – The second stage of the Tour of the Alps brings the riders from Telfs, Austria, to Martell, Italy. The 147.5-kilometre route features 2,550 metres of climbing, while the finish comes on a 5-kilometre climb at 8.9%. In fact, it is the only uphill finish of the five-day race, although there is plenty of climbing to be done.

The first 25 kilometres run on the flat through the Inn Valley before the riders turn into the Pitztal, where the road already begins to rise gently towards the foot of the day’s first climb. The Pillerhöhe is a 9.2-kilometre test at an average gradient of 6%.

The descent leads back to the Inn Valley, this time the Upper Inn Valley, which the riders follow upstream for around 20 kilometres. They can almost touch the Austrian–Swiss border as they turn off to tackle the climb towards Italy instead. The Passo Resia rises for 15.8 kilometres at an average of 3.4%. The summit marks the Austrian–Italian border.

The next 13 kilometres run across a gently rolling high plateau, after which the riders descend for another 13 kilometres to the next plateau. That section also stretches for about 13 kilometres before the road trends slightly downhill towards the foot of the final climb. Before tackling it, there is an intermediate sprint in Goldrain.

The final climb rises for 5 kilometres at an average of 8.9% to Martell, while the road levels off considerably beyond the flamme rouge.

The first three riders on the line gain time bonuses of 10, 6 and 4 seconds, while the bonus sprint in Goldrain comes with 6, 4 and 2 seconds.
