Tour of the Alps 2026: Live report stage 3

Tour of the Alps 2026 Slowly but surely, the stages in the Tour of the Alps are getting tougher. In the first 50 kilometres, the riders tackle a monster climb, after which the route becomes hilly, before descending in the final kilometres. Follow today's action live.on Cyclingstage.com.

The opening phase is disrupted by a major crash. Several riders, including Lorenzo Finn, are forced to abandon, and the peloton heads in a compact formation towards the first climb, the Hofmahdjoch.

As soon as the road goes uphill, a group of eight riders breaks away. Sam Oomen, Gijs Leemreize, Peter Øxenberg, Florian Stork, Sean Quinn, Finlay Pickering, Alessandro Tonelli and Nicolo Garibbo open a small gap, but they are caught. Oomen isn’t discouraged and goes again just before the summit, this time with Darren Rafferty. The two open up a maximum lead of more than 2 minutes.

The race is expected to finish around 14:20 CEST. For details, please see the timings in the slideshow below this article.
