Tour of the Alps 2024: The Route
The 1st stage is a 133.3 kilometres long race with an elevation gain of 2,060 metres. A 4.3 kilometres climb at 9.4% is expected to be crucial, as the riders reach the summit with 17 kilometres left to race.
At 189.1 kilometres, stage 2 is the longest race of the Tour of the Alps. The elevation gain adds up to 2,510 metres, while a 4.5 kilometres climb at 7.6% spices the finale before the home straight runs slightly uphill.
The 3rd stage is 127 kilometres long and includes an elevation gain of 2,360 metres. The race both starts and finishes in Schwaz. The last 38 kilometres are extremely trying with two laps featuring the Weerberg (3.2 kilometres at 9.9%) and Pillberg (3.2 kilometres at 10.3%). The latter is situated 6 kilometres before the finish.
The riders travel from Laives to Borgo Valsugana in the Queen Stage of the Tour of the Alps. The race is 141.3 kilometres long and takes in an elevation gain of 3,830 metres. The Col San Marco - 5.2 kilometres at 7% - is the last climb before a 9.1 kilometres descent to the line.
The final stage both starts and finishes in Levico Terme. The 118.6 kilometres route takes in 2,490 metres of climbing, while the last climb, Palù del Fersina (12.5 kilometres at 6.2%), is crested with more than 16 kilometres left to race.
