Tour de Romandie 2015 Route stage 3: Moutier – Porrentruy

Tour de Romandie 2015 stage 3 Thursday, April 30, 2015 – Stage 3 of the Tour de Romandie takes the riders in 173.2 kilometres from Moutier to Porrentruy. Thibaut Pinot loves that place, because in 2012 he won his first Tour de France-stage in the Swiss town. At the time, the talented French-man was only 22 years of age.

Tour de Romandie 2015 stage 3: Moutier – Porrentruy

After a local round in and around Moutier, riders head for Porrentruy. Along the way they are to crest the Côte de Bure (3rd category) two times. The 1.8 kilometres climb at 7.4% is both the first and the last ascent in stage 3. In between are Col de la Croix (4.8 kilometres at 6.3% - 2nd category) and Col des Rangiers (4.8 kilometres at 8.9% - 2nd category). That last climb featured, just like departure-town Moutier, in stage 6 of last year’s Tour de Suisse. A stage won by Matteo Trentin.

The second and last time Côte de Bure is crested there are 25 kilometres left to race, mainly downhill. Vincenzo Nibali, eat your heart out!
