O Gran Camiño 2025 Route + results stage 2: Marín – A Estrada
The route goes up and down from start to finish. The climbs aren’t long, but they come thick and fast throughout the entire day. With an upward-tilting finale, we can look forward to an exciting race.
Not all of the hills are categorised - in fact, only three of them have been KOM-labeled. The first is the Alto de San Antaniño. It stretches for 2.3 kilometres at 6.5%, although the road begins to rise at moderate gradients before that.
After 62 kilometres, the riders enter a local circuit, which they complete twice. The toughest climb in this section is the Alto de San Vicenzo: 2.5 kilometres at 7.2%. But another section is more important – the finish.
At 97 kilometres, the riders face the finishing climb for the first time. It's a 1.9 kilometres test at 5.6% - a bit tougher than the numbers suggest, as there’s a false flat run-up to it.
After the second pass over the Alto de San Vicenzo, there’s no descent. The route continues in undulating fashion for around 7 kilometres, before the false flat run-up precedes the 1.9-kilometre, 5.6% dash to the line.
The first three riders to finish bag 10, 6, and 4 bonus seconds, while there are 3, 2, and 1 second bonuses up for grabs at the intermediate sprints.
