O Gran Camiño 2025 Route + results stage 1: Maia – Matosinhos

O Gran Camiño 2025 Wednesday, 26 February - The 1st stage is a 189.7 kilometre race with over 2,000 metres of elevation gain. For O Gran Camiño standards, that’s next to nothing.

There are two categorised climbs along the way; the rest of the route is flat to undulating.

Topping out after 51 kilometres, the Alto de Feitos is a 6-kilometre climb with an average gradient of 4.2%. The Alto São Félix comes up about 90 kilometres later, after a flat section. It’s a 1.3-kilometre climb at 6.9%.

In the 45 kilometres remaining after the Alto São Félix, there are some rolling sections, but the route is mostly flat. So, the sprinters are expected to come to the fore, especially since the final 6 kilometres are as flat as they come.

The first three riders to finish earn 10, 6, and 4 bonus seconds, with 3, 2, and 1 second bonuses available at the intermediate sprints.
