Giro Rosa 2018 Route stage 7: Lanzada - Campo Moro

Giro Rosa 2018 stage 7 Thursday, 12 July 2018 - The 7th stage of the Giro Rosa is a mountain time trial of 15 kilometres. The average gradient is 6.7%, but that's really a biased statistic as the route is crammed with double digit ramps.

The start ramp is situated in mountain village Lanzada at an altitude of almost 1,000 metres in the Dolomites, just north of Sondrio. Following an easy start of a few hundred metres the inclination goes up with double digit gradients. With this the tone is set. The climb to Campo Moro alternates between doable sections and steep ramps. With 2.5 kilometres remaining the slope finally flattens out to continue false flat. The route even brings some relief during a 100 metres plunge.

Last year's Giro Rosa featured an uphill time trial, too, yet that course was more punchy. It took in a number of sharp hills, while this ITT is features just climb. In 2017's chrono, Annemiek van Vleuten outperformed Anna van der Breggen and Elisa Longo Borghini.
