Giro Rosa 2018 Stage 10: Annemiek van Vleuten wins final stage and GC

The Giro Rosa's 10th stage features several loops around Cividale del Friuli. The finale is marked by a 6 kilometres climb at 7.1% with its peak 10.6 kilometres before the finish. Maglia rosa attacks in the last uphill kilometres and holds off the chasers on descent. Lucinda Brand sprints to second place with Kasia Niewiadoma in third. (Slideshow route/profile)

Race report
The first attack is by Lilibeth Chacon, but it's neutralised. Then Dani Christmas, Carmela Cipriani en Anna Ceoloni give it a go. Chantal Blaak, Chloe Hosking, Katia Ragusa, Elena Cecchini, Sheyla Gutierrez Rui, Małgorzata Jasińska, Juliette Labous, Alice Gasparini, Eva Buurman and Jeanne Korevaar join them. The thirteen open up a maximum gap of 3 minutes.

The front group tackles the only climb of the day with a lead of almost 2 minutes before it drops fast. They are caught and Mavia Garcia strikes with Juliette Labous. Amanda Spratt, Annemiek van Vleuten, Ashleigh Moolman, Megan Guarnier, Kasia Niewiadoma, Cecilie Uttrup, Lucinda Brand, Dani King and Ane Santesteban hook. Before the top maglia rosa Van Vleuten goes alone and she holds off the chasers on descent.

In arrival town Cividale del Friuli Annemiek van Vleuten wins her third stage of this Giro Rosa and seals the overall victory. Lucinda Brand bests Kasia Niewiadoma in a group sprint for second place, while Ashleigh Moolman finishes second on GC, more than 4 minutes down on the winner. Van Vleuten's team mate Amanda Spratt rounds out the podium.
