Giro 2022 Favourites stage 11: For fast men #4

fotobureau Cor VosThe Giro presents a complete flat stage on the eleventh day of action. So the sprinters are likely to have it their way.

From the departure in Santarcangelo di Romagna the road goes practically always straight across the Emilian plain until reaching Reggio Emilia for the near inevitable bunch sprint. The route adds up to more than 200 kilometres, so it will be a tiring day to most.

Tim Merlier took one sprint triumph in last year's Giro, as did Giacomo Nizzolo, while Caleb Ewan scored twice. Mark Cavendish won no less than 18 stages at the Giro. Is he going to add another victory to his tally in Reggio Emilia after his powerful surge to triumph on the third day?

The other two sprints until now were won by Arnaud Démare.
