Giro 2022 Favourites stage 3: For fast men #1

fotobureau Cor VosThe pink carpet is rolled out for the fast men on the third day of action. Stage 3 is flat and fast with an inevitable bunch sprint to top it off.

The route is not entirely flat. In fact, the organisation has found reason to insert a categorised climb inside the last 15 kilometres. Although the label may be a bit farfetched. It's a 2.7 kilometres climb at 2.5%. In all fairness, sprinters who are dropped on that false flat stretch have no business at the Giro.

Caleb Ewan took two sprint victories in last year's Giro before he dropped out on stage 8 with a knee injury. The other sprints were won by Tim Merlier and Giacomo Nizzolo.
