Eneco Tour 2014 Route Stage 4: Koksijde (B) – Ardooie (B)

Thursday, August 14, 2014 - In 2013 the Eneco Tour opened with a Koksijde-Ardooie stage. Today's 4th ride is a copy of that one, covering 183.3 kilometres and peppered with a false flat in the deep finale. (Slideshow route/profile)

Starting in Koksijde the riders make a go for a few local rounds and then it's off Ardooie. They traverse Diksmuide, Ypres (recently departure town in stage 5 of the Tour de France) and Izegem. Once in Ardooie a circuit of 15.4 kilometres welcomes the riders, to be taken twice and then it's up to the fast men.

Ardooie has hosted the Eneco Tour several times. 2013 saw Mark Renshaw take the stage after a jump in the last kilometre, whilst in the past Tyler Farrar (image), Tom Boonen and André Greipel were victorious in the West Flanders' municipality.

The finale is peppered with a tricky last 3 kilometres, going slightly uphill.
