Critérium du Dauphiné 2023 Route stage 3: Monistrol-sur-Loire - La Coteau

Criterium du Dauphine 2023Tuesday 6 June - Stage 3 is the flattest of the entire Critérium du Dauphiné. The 191.3 kilometres route features 2,130 metres of climbing, most of which is packed in the first half of the race.

In fact, stage 2 is two stages for one. The first half is lumpy, the second half is predominantly flat. In fact, the Côte de Neulise is the only hurdle that could disturb sprinters dreams. Yet, that’s not very likely. The 7.5 kilometres climb goes up at 3%. Furthermore, there are still almost 20 kilometres to go at the summit.

So, a bunch sprint is the expected outcome. Last year, Wout van Aert took the spoils in the only bunch sprint of the Critérium du Dauphiné.

The first three riders on the line gain time bonuses of 10, 6 and 4 seconds, while the intermediate sprint comes with 3, 2 and 1 seconds.
