Vuelta Femenina 2026 Route stage 7: Pola de Laviana - L'Angliru

Vuelta Femenina 2026 Saturday 9 May – The final stage of the Vuelta Femenina serves up 3,504 metres of climbing over 132.9 kilometres. That's no picnic in itself, but the finish atop the brutally steep Angliru makes it an especially savage test.

The final day of the Vuelta Femenina serves up an intense race of attrition. In fact, the only flat section comes in the opening kilometres before the Alto de Santa Emiliano offers 5.2 kilometres at 5.9%, while its summit comes after 15.2 kilometres. The route then continues over rolling roads to the foot of the Alto de la Tejera: 4.2 kilometres at 4.5%. There is no descent afterwards; instead, the road keeps rising gently for 7 kilometres.

Following the downhill and a section along the valley floor, the Alto del Tenebredo provides a taste of the hardship that is still to come: 3.2 kilometres at an average gradient of 9.2%. From the summit, around 35 kilometres remain.

The riders descend towards Soto de Ribera and then continue to the intermediate sprint in Las Mazas. A false flat then leads up to the monster that concludes the Vuelta Femenina. The Angliru is 12.4 kilometres long, but in reality the monster has three heads. The first 5 kilometres average 8%, and after a relatively flat kilometre the monster starts to roar. In the second half, the Angliru ramps up to 15%. The steepest sector, a savage 23.5% ramp aptly nicknamed Cueña les Cabres (the Goat Path), appears just over 2 kilometres from the finish. Over the full 12.4 kilometres, the average gradient sits at 9.7%.

The final stage of the Vuelta Femenina starts at 10:36 and is expected to finish at 14:30 - both local times (CEST).
