Vuelta Femenina 2026 Route stage 2: Lobios - San Cibrao das Viñas

Vuelta Femenina 2026 Monday 4 May – A rolling to hilly parcours and a climb just before the finish - that's one the menu for the second day of the Vuelta Femenina. Over 109.8 kilometres, the riders tackle 2,143 metres of elevation gain.

It is rarely flat on the roads between Lobios and San Cibrao das Viñas, but the organisers see no reason to award KOM points, probably because the gradients are never demanding. Yet, for form’s sake, it would have been nice to see a KOM sprint at the highest point of the route. That comes at 833 metres above sea level, reached via a 3.7-kilometre climb at 4%.

Back in the valley, the route continues over rolling roads to the intermediate sprint in Valdengo. That too is located on an uphill drag: 2.6 kilometres at 3.6%. After the sprint, the road continues to rise on a false flat for another 10 kilometres towards the hamlet of Gundiá, before finally tipping downhill.

At the passage through Gundiá, there are still 22 kilometres to go, consisting of a descent, a rising false flat section, another descent, and then it is time for the final showdown. That begins with a 1.8-kilometre climb at 5.5%. The riders then descend a few hundred metres to the flamme rouge, after which the final kilometre is flat.

The first three riders across the finish line gain 10, 6 and 4 bonus seconds, while 6, 4 and 2 seconds are up for grabs at the intermediate sprint.
