Vuelta Femenina 2023 Route stage 4: Cuenca - Guadalajara

Vuelta Femenina 2023 Thurday 4 May - Stage 4 of the Vuelta for women is played out on a predominantly rolling route of 133.1 kilometres between Cuenca and Guadalajara. The Alto de Hurche is the hardest ascent of the day - 4 kilometres at 4.8% - with its summit 12 kilometres before the finish.

After the start in Cuenca - which is famous for its Casas Colgadas, houses hanging over a deep gorge - the first 15 kilometres go ever so slightly uphill that's it's arguably flat. A rolling phase then makes way for a another flat section, which ends halfway through the race with a climb to the village Alcocer. This is where the stage enters a more undulating part.

With roughly 35 kilometres remaining La Vuelta Femenina starts descending to the base of the Alto de Hurche. As mentioned, the riders crest the 4 kilometres climb at 4.8% with 12 kilometres to go. The first half is flat, after which stage 4 closes with a descend to the line..

Finishing venue Guadelajara is situated roughly 50 kilometres to the northeast of Madrid. It's a town with a population of 85,000 people.

The intermediate sprint comes with time bonuses of 6, 4 and 2 seconds, while the first three riders on the line gain 10, 6 and 4 seconds.
