Vuelta 2023 Route stage 19: La Bañeza - Íscar
Friday 15 September - The 19th stage of the Vuelta a España is a race of 177.1 kilometres between La Bañeza and Íscar. The route is virtually flat, so - on paper - this one should be for the fast men.
It’s been awhile, but La Bañeza did see a Vuelta peloton before. The 5th stage of the 1989 edition set off from the place in the southers part of the province León. The race went to Béjar and Eddy Planckaert took the spoils
Another sprint finish in the cards in Íscar, as the route features only 935 vertical metres. The rider who wins in the little town in the province of Valladolid will be the first rider to do so, as La Vuelta never was here before
The first three riders on the line gain time bonuses of 10, 6 and 4 seconds, while the intermediate sprint comes with 6, 4 and 4 seconds.
