Race report
Al lot of movement from the gun before Matej Mohoric, Harold Tejada, Dmitri Strakhov, Matthias Jensen and Antoine Duchesne manage to jump off the front. The five open up a gap of more than 4 minutes.

Strakhov is the last rider to be reeled in inside the last 20 kilometres before Rémi Cavagna strikes on the top of the last climb with 12 kilometres remaining. The Frenchman is reeled in after a 4 kilometres effort.

Peter Sagan outguns Daryl Impey and Sebastián Molano in the ensuing sprint to take his first win of 2021. Adam Yates stays in the overall race lead.
