Tour of Valencia 2026 Route stage 2: Carlet - Alginet
The elevation gain comes from a section that begins to rise around the 6-kilometre mark. The gradients are generally modest, although there are some ramps reaching around 8%. Overall, it’s more of a gentle rolling 3-kilometre section than a proper climb.
Once over the top, the road drops slightly more steeply than the preceding climb, leaving 7 kilometres to the finish. This part of the course has the fewest corners, allowing the riders to reach breakneck speeds. Although, it’s not a slow course to begin with. The organisers are expecting average speeds of up to 53 kilometres per hour.
The wind is the main challenge. It is blowing so hard around Carlet and Aignet that time trial bikes are banned and the times will not count towards the general classification. However, a stage winner will still be declared.
