Tour of Valencia 2026 Route stage 1: Segorbe - Torreblanca

Tour of Valencia 2026 Wednesday 4 February – The Tour of Valencia opens with a 160-kilometre stage from Segorbe to Torreblanca. In a race featuring 1,752 metres of elevation gain, the Alto de los Madroños is the most demanding climb, crested 39 kilometres from the line.

The roads are rarely flat on the way from Segorbe to Torreblanca, but the gradients are modest. The undulating route becomes a bit more demanding in the final 42 kilometres with the Puerto de los Madroños, a climb of 2.7 kilometres at an average of 5.4%. You could also describe it as a 1-kilometre ramp at 10.8%, which is the toughest section, as both the first and last part are more of a false flat.

From the summit, the road descends towards the Mediterranean Sea, before two short uphill sections appear just before Orpesa. The riders then cover the final 22 kilometres on flat coastal roads to the finish in Torreblanca.

The final 4 kilometres are ruler-straight and slightly downhill, so speeds will be high.

The first three riders at the finish gain time bonuses of 10, 6 and 4 seconds; the intermediate sprint at the Puerto de los Madroños offers bonuses of 3, 2 and 1 seconds.
