Rui Costa won the 74th edition of Tour of Valencia, while Giulio Ciccone and Tao Geoghegan Hart rounded out the final podium. The 5-day stage race started on Wednesday 1 February 2023 and finished on Sunday the 5th.

Costa outguns Arensman on the line to win the GC
Rui Costa and Thymen Arensman attack from the GC group in the last kilometres. The Portuguese outsprints the Dutchman to win both the stage and the GC.

Geoghegan Hart wins mountain top sprint, Ciccone still leader
A reduced peloton sprint for the stage victory in the last mountain stage of the Tour of Valencia. Tao Geoghegan Hart charges for the line and wins bike lengths ahead of Thomas Gloag and Giulio Ciccone. The Italian keeps the leader's jersey.

Velasco wins from the breakaway, Ciccone still leader
It looks like an easy catch, but no. Breakaway riders Simone Velasco, Bob Jungels and Jonas Gregaard manage to hold off the charging peloton before Velasco sprints to victory in the 3rd stage of the Tour of Valencia.

Ciccone wins on Alto de Pinos to take race lead
Brandon McNulty attacks inside the last 2 kilometres of the finish climb and young Thomas Gloag joins him. But it comes together in the last 500 metres before Giulio Ciccone sprints to triumph. The Italian also moves into the GC lead.

The Route
The Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana was 2023's first stage race on European soil. Following a hilly race on the first day of action the climbers were treated in the stages 2 and 4. Aleksandr Vlasov was title holder.
