The first 25 kilometres of the race take place on the flat. The route then continues for 10 kilometres as a false flat before a similar section goes down.
About halfway through, just after moving through starting venue Betera again, the route climb false flat to the base of the Alto de L’Oronet. This climb is 4.2 kilometres long and averages 4.4%. It would be easy – just 5 kilometres on slightly uphill rolling terrain – to continue to the Port del Garbí, but this does not happen. Instead, the riders make a detour to tackle the Garbí from another side. This way, the climb is 9 kilometres long and the average gradient sits at 5.1%.
Just 5 kilometres on slightly uphill rolling terrain and the riders are back at the Alto de L’Oronet before continuing downhill on the same road as before. After Estivella the route does not turn right to re-enter the Garbí climb, but goes straight ahead towards the Mediterranean coast.
The route goes predominantly downhill in the last 30 kilometres. The first 10 kilometres are on descent, the rest is flat or false flat down.
The first three riders on the line gain time bonuses of 10, 6 and 4 seconds, while the intermediate sprint (MV in underneath profile) comes with 3, 2 and 1 seconds.
