Tour of the Basque Country 2025 Route stage 2: Pamplona - Lodosa
Tuesday, 8 April – Stage 2 of the Tour of the Basque Country takes the riders on a 186.6-kilometre journey from Pamplona to Lodosa. By Basque standards, the amount of climbing is modest - roughly 2,000 metres.
The route serves up only one classified climb, the Alto de San Martín de Unx, a modest test with its summit after 47 kilometres. It’s basically a place to bag mountain points.
The descent starts roughly 10 kilometres later, followed by 40 kilometres on flat terrain. In the more rolling section that follows, the riders will pass through the finish line for the first time.
The 2nd stage concludes with a 62.1-kilometre lap on gently rolling roads. In the last 12 kilometres, there’s a 2.2-kilometre stretch averaging 4.3%, before the riders descend to the pan flat finale.
The first three riders across the line pick up 10, 6, and 4 bonus seconds, while the intermediate sprints come with 3, 2, and 1 seconds.

Originally, the route was meant to be slightly longer and include La Oliva instead of the Alto de San Martín de Unx. But in essence, the race remains unchanged.
