Tour of the Alps 2025 Route stage 4: Sillian – Obertilliach
Thursday, 24 April – The 4th stage of the Tour of the Alps takes place on a 160-kilometre course with 3,200 metres of elevation gain. The final 40 kilometres include two steep climbs and a 7.6-kilometre ascent at 5.9%.
The stage begins with a large southward loop. Along the way, the riders tackle the climb to Misurina (5.6-kilometre at 5.5%), the Passo di Sant’Antonio (7.6-kilometre at 8.3%), and the Passo Monte Croce Comellico (or Kreuzbergpass: 9-kilometre at 4.6%). After 109 kilometres, the riders pass through the finish town before heading onto a local circuit.
The 33-kilometre circuit includes two punishing climbs. The Anras Oberried climb ascends for 4.6 kilometres at an average gradient of 8.4%, with an even steeper section at the bottom. Immediately after descending, the route begins to rise again towards the brutal Tessenberg. The climb starts gently, but after leaving the main road, the gradient intensifies to 2.4 kilometres at 10.2%.
After descending the Tessenberg, the riders exit the circuit and take on the Kartitscher Sattel. This is a 7.6-kilometre climb at 5.9%, with the final 600 metres kicking up at 9.3%.
From the summit of the Kartitscher Sattel, only 7 kilometres remain. The descent is straightforward, and after 3 kilometres on the flat, the riders pass under the flamme rouge. The final kilometre starts with a slight incline before the road descends gently to the finish line.
The first three riders on the line gain time bonuses of 10, 6 and 4 seconds, while the intermediate sprints come with 3, 2 and 1 seconds.
