Tour of the Alps 2025 Route stage 3: Sterzing - Innechen
The first 20 kilometres are a gentle descent, after which the route remains flat until the road begins to climb towards Longega – also known as Zwischenwasser. From the village, the riders tackle a brutal climb: 4.3 kilometres at 9.3%.
After a short descent, the road ascends for 1.5 kilometres at 7.8%. Another brief descent follows, leading onto a 2-kilometre climb at 5.8%. From there, the riders descend back to Longega, reaching the 80-kilometre mark.
Next comes a gently rising section leading onto the Passo Furcia – or Furkelpass –, a 7.7-kilometre climb with an average gradient of 7.3%. The hardest part comes just before the summit, as the sixth and seventh kilometres serve up double-digit gradients.
The following 25 kilometres are relatively easy. First, the road rises gently, then it descends gently.
The Monte Versiaco – or Vierschachberg – is the final climb of the day. It's a 5.9-kilometre test at 7.1%, with the second and third kilometre presenting the toughest challenges - 10.1% and 9%, respectively.
Once at the summit, 11 kilometres remain. This begins with a short downhill section, followed by a flat stretch and a slight uphill kicker before the riders plunge into a final 3.7-kilometre descent to the finish line.
