Race report
Following a fast opening with a lot of movement six riders are off the front at kilometre 9. Rob Scott, KOM leader King Jake Scott, Rory Townsend, Harry Tanfield, Christophe Noppe and Dries De Bondt race to a maximum lead of approximately 4 minutes.

Scott increases his advantage in the KOM competition by another 4 points at the Ford Common climb, while Noppe hits the top of the climb at Weetwood Bank ahead of him. At the last KOM climb - Lyham Hill - Scott ensures he remains the King of the Mountains going into the lumpy Kendal stage.

The breakaway six are brought back before the flamme rouge and Dylan Groenwegen outpowers his compatriot Mathieu van der Poel in the ensuing bunch sprint. Matteo Trentin crosses the line in fifth position to stay in the race lead.
