Race report
Once the flag has been dropped Geoffrey Bouchard, Guillaume Boivin and Miles Scotson jump clear to race to a lead of 4 minutes. Scotson is the last rider to be reeled in with 10 kilometres to go.
Just after the peloton hits the final corner onto Torrens Hill Road Marco Marcato attacks. Richie Porte does not wait around and goed after him. He gobbles up the Italian to leave him behind and open up a comfortable gap. The Tasmanian wins the stage ahead of Robert Power and Simon Yates.
Porte moves up to the first place, 4 seconds ahead of Daryl Impey with Rob Power 5 more seconds further behind.
