Edition 22 of the Tour Down Under is held from Tuesday 21 January to Sunday. For most European riders the race is merely a good training, while Australians think of it as the first goal of the year. No wonder they are in good shape, the Australian National Championships are held one week earlier. The six-day race is competed in Adelaide, South Australia. (Slideshow route/profile)
Daryl Impey is title holder. Last year’s podium was rounded out by Richie Porte and Wout Poels.
