Actually, the riders who took part in the 2023 Tour de Suisse will find even more similarities. Except for the first 2 kilometres, the route is copy-pasted from the finale of last year’s 3rd stage, which was won by Mattias Skjelmose.
The starting podium is situated on the Allée Ferdi Kübler, home to the UCI World Cycling Centre. After a left-hander and a right-hander the riders enter the finale of last year’s 3rd stage. The route remains flat for 3 more kilometres and then starts to incline gradually when the riders fork left to Ollon.
The full ascent to Villars-sur-Ollon is 10.2 kilometres long, with an average gradient of 8%. The first 2.5 kilometres are the steepest part – this section slopes at 8.7% -, but overall, it’s a fairly steady climb.
The intermediate times are taken at kilometre 5.2.
