Tour de Suisse 2016 Stage 2: Sagan outsprints Richeze, Roelandts takes leader’s jersey

Totalling at 187.6 kilometres, the riders race a hilly local circuit in Baar four times. It boils down to a bunch sprint with Peter Sagan fastest. Because of a split in the peloton Roelandts takes 3 seconds from Cancellara and the Belgian is the new overall leader. (Slideshow route/profile)

Race report
The 2nd stage of the Tour de Suisse leaves in rainy conditions. With 10 kms done Krizek, Minard, Tolhoek and Wyss get clear and they race to a maximum lead at 5 minutes. With 35 kms left they are reeled in.

Cancellara bests Roelandts in the intermediate sprint with 10 kms left, thus cementing his overall lead by 1 second, but it turns tot to be to no avail.

Sagan powers to the win, yet behind him a splits occurs when Gaviria stops his efforts in full sprints. Therefore most riders get stuck behind and Cancellara is one of them.
