Race report
Fausto Masnada attacks shortly after the start. The Italian is escorted by five men, Juri Hollmann, Rune Herregodts, Patrick Gamper, Joey Rosskopf and Raúl García Pierna. They put 4 minutes into the peloton.

Jan Christen strikes from the peloton on the last haul up to the Chapelle de Lorette. Richard Carapaz and David Gaudu go with him, but they are reeled in with 32 kilomtres remaining.

The lead of the six is almost gone when Julian Alaphilippe at the end of the last climb of the day. The Frechman makes the catch, but is caught himself, and the race boils down to a sprint.

Dorian Godon powers to a dominant victory, ahead of his lead-out Andrea Vendrame and Gianni Vermeersch.

Godon is the new leader on GC, Vermeersch sits in second, Alaphilippe in third.
