Tour de Romandie 2024 Route prologue: Payerne

Tour de Romandie 2024 Tuesday 23 April - The Tour de Romandie opens with an extremely short ITT. The prologue is just 2.28 kilometres long, technical, and flat.

The Tour of Romandie often begins with a prologue, but as short as this one is rather unique. The race in Payerne is an ITT for sprinters, one could argue.

Last year's prologue was won by Josef Cerny, 1 second ahead of Tobias Foss and Rémi Cavagna. That route was 6.8 kilometres long, so odds are that the time gaps will be even smaller this time.

The Tour de Romandie last visited Payerne in 2017. The route consisted of several loops around Payerne. Eventually it was Elia Viviani who sprinted to victory ahead of Sonny Colbrelli and Michael Schwarzmann.
