Race report
Today's break got away after 15 kilometres of racing with Bakelants, Vuillermoz, Albasini, Marino and Voeckler teaming up to make a strong group. The maximum gap was 6 minutes and with the chase lacking conviction, the peloton fluffed their lines and never caught them.

Bakelants attacked his breakaway companions with 10 kilometres remaining with only Albasini and Voeckler able to react and the three of them stayed away until the finish where Albasini lead out the sprint but still won comfortably.
