Tour de Pologne 2020: Carapaz jumps to victory and leader’s jersey
The 3rd stage of the Tour de Pologne travels over seven intermediate climbs to a finishing circuit in Bielsko-Biała. The fast men survive the hilly zone, but Richard Carapaz outguns the sprinters with an attack in the last 400 metres. Diego Ulissi finishes in second, Rudy Molard in third. (Slideshow route/profile)

Race report
Van der Hoorn, Jauregui, Gradek and Stosz establish a gap early on, which they widen to more than 4 minutes before the peloton takes the reins.
With 45 kilometres remaining Van der Hoorn heads out alone on the last climb of the run-in to the finishing circuit. Just before the Dutchman is brought back, Nathan Haas goes on the counter-attack while moving through Bielsko-Biała for the first time.
The Australian opens up a gap of 1 minute, but he is brought back just before the bell for the last round of 7 kilometres.
The home straight is long and straight and runs slightly uphill. Still Carapaz manages to jump clear inside the last 400 metres. He holds off the charging pack and finishes just ahead of Ulissi.
The Giro-winner catapults himself into the GC-lead with this win.
