Race report
Maciej Paterski and Julius van den Berg initiate the breakaway. No one joins them and the duo races to a lead of 6 minutes in one hour. The gap remains stable for quite a while, but they don’t stand a chance once the peloton starts chasing.
In the first of three local laps of 6 kilometres the attackers are caught.
In the ensuing bunch sprint Trek-Segafredo does a magnificent job and Mads Pedersen finishes it off. He outguns Pascal Ackermann and Davide Ballerini with a tiny margin.
