Race report
Neilson Powless attacks fom the start, and KOM leader Jonas Abrahamsen goes with him. Stefan Bissegger makes it three at the front, and they open up a lead of over 2 minutes.
The gap falls to 1 minute on the Côte de Vitteaux. Abrahamsen extends his KOM lead at the summit before Romain Grégoire opens the chase.
Powless and Bissegger stop their efforts on the Côte de Villy-en-Auxois, making it even easier for Abrahamsen to pocket the KOM points. He reaches the summit of the remaining climbs in first position as well, as no one dares to bridge across. Meanwhile, Abrahamsen extends his lead to over 6 minutes. Meantime, the Norwegian rides to a maximum lead of over 6 minutes.
The peloton reels in the lone attacker with 15 kilometres remaining.
A closed peloton heads towards the uphill final kilometre. Jasper Philipsen seems set to take the win until Biniam Girmay appears in the final metres to pip him at the line.
