Tour de France 2023: Asgreen wins from breakaway, Vingegaard still leader
foto: Cor VosSprinters were expected to shine in Bourg-en-Bresse, but no. The breakaway succeeds and Kasper Asgreen outsprints Pascal Eenkhoorn and Jonas Abrahamsen in Bourg-en-Bresse. The GC remains unchanged, so Jonas Vingegaard keeps the yellow jersey. (Slideshow route/profile)

Race report
Kasper Asgreen, Jonas Abrahamsen and Victor Campenaerts establish the breakaway early on. The three open up a 1.40 minutes lead. That’s all they get.
The gap has fallen to 30 seconds when Pascal Eenhoorn tries to bridge across with 65 kilometres remaining. His team mate Campenaerts waits for him and the two rejoin the race lead.
The bunch miscalculates, while the leaders keep working together as a TTT machine until the finale. Campenaerts leads out the spint for Eenkhoorn, but it is Asgreen who powers to triumph.
The other Dane, Vingegaard, stays in the lead of the general classification.
