Race report
Eight riders jump clear on the first climb of the day. Alvaro Cuadros, Xabier Isasa, Lindsay De Vylder, Rune Herregodts, Vojtech Repa, Ander Okamika, Mark Christian and Stephen Bassett carve out a lead of 15 minutes.

Six attackers remain when they tackle the punchy climb to the line 1.30 minutes ahead of the peloton.

The race comes down to a Bassett-Herregodts clash in te last few hundred meters. The 23-year old Belgian outguns the American to ride into the first leader’s jersey.
