Race report

King of the Mountains Diego Pablo Sevilla, Manuele Tarozzi and Alessandro Tonelli attack right from the start and build a maximum lead of almost 4 minutes. After that, the gap hovers between 2 and 3 minutes for tens of kilometres.

On the Borovec Pass, the sprinters aren’t really put under pressure, although Arnaud De Lie is dropped. At the top, Sevilla takes the most KOM points.

The peloton catches the three attackers 500 metres from the finish, after which Jonathan Milan is first to launch the sprint. He hits the cobbles in the final hundred metres before Paul Magnier and Dylan Groenewegen appear alongside him. They flash across the line almost simultaneously, but the Frenchman is just a fraction earlier and takes the win.
