Giro 2024 Favourites stage 3: For fast finishers #1

The route of the 3rd stages features an elevation gain of merely 750 metres, so the sprinters will have fresh legs when they tackle that 1.6 kilometres section.

Along the way, the peloton faces just one KOM climb – 3.8 kilometres at 3.8% and with its summit almost 110 kilometres from the finish line. In the remainder of the race two unclassified uphill sections (La Madonna: 1.7 kilometres at 4.2%; climb to Cherasco: 1.2 kilometres at 6.1%) precede the 1.6 kilometres hill at 5.3% in the finale.

Five different sprinters were successful in last year’s Giro – Jonathan Milan, Kaden Groves, Mads Pedersen, Pascal Ackerman, and Mark Cavendish. The first two are competing again in this edition.
